UTM parameters let you track where your website traffic and job applications originate. When configured in Wonderkind NEXT, they are automatically appended to every campaign URL so your web analytics tool (Google Analytics, Matomo, etc.) can attribute traffic correctly.
What are UTM parameters?
UTM parameters are tags added to the end of a URL:
https://yourcompany.com/apply/senior-engineer? utm_source=wonderkind& utm_medium=paid-social& utm_campaign=senior-engineer-amsterdam
Parameter | Purpose |
The origin of the traffic
The marketing channel
The campaign identifier
The specific ad or variant
Additional keyword or targeting context
Configuring UTM settings
Go to Settings → UTM. See UTM Settings Configuration for the full setup guide.
Available dynamic variables
In the UTM settings page, you can use dynamic variables in your parameter values. These are replaced with real data automatically when a campaign URL is built.
Variable | Resolves to |
Job title
Job location
Internal campaign ID
Job reference number
Campaign language
Job category
Campaign package ID
Click the copy icon next to any variable on the UTM settings page to copy it, then paste it into the relevant parameter value field.
How UTMs are applied
Once configured, Wonderkind appends the UTM parameters to every job application URL at the time of campaign deployment. This happens automatically in the background, you don't need to add UTMs to individual campaigns.
Note: Keep your application URLs free of existing UTM parameters. If a URL already contains UTMs, the Wonderkind parameters will be appended alongside them, which can cause duplicate tracking values in your analytics tool.
Verifying UTM tracking
After launching a campaign, click through to your application URL and check that the expected UTM parameters appear in the address bar. In Google Analytics, confirm traffic appears under Acquisition → Source/Medium.
