This article covers issues that can occur when uploading assets, generating renditions, or using the AI image generator.
Rendition shows "Error" status
Cause 1: Original image too small
If the source image is smaller than the target rendition dimensions, Wonderkind cannot upscale it cleanly.
Minimum upload sizes:
For Meta campaigns only: 1200 × 628 px minimum
For all platforms including Google Display: 1200 × 1200 px recommended
For Stories / Reels: 1080 × 1920 px
Fix:
Upload a higher-resolution version of the image.
In Asset Studio, go to Renditions and click Retry on the failed rendition.
Cause 2: Unsupported file format
Some file types may not process correctly.
Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF
Fix: Convert the file to JPG or PNG and re-upload.
Cause 3: Corrupt or malformed file
A partially uploaded or corrupted file will fail processing.
Fix:
Delete the asset (Asset Studio, ⋯, Delete asset).
Re-download or re-export the source file.
Re-upload.
Asset stuck in "Processing" status
Rendition processing normally takes 10–30 seconds. If an asset is still showing Processing after several minutes:
Refresh the page.
If still Processing, open the asset in Asset Studio and click ⋯, Force retry processing.
If the issue persists, contact Wonderkind support with the asset ID (visible in the URL:
/assets/[asset-id]).
AI image generation issues
"Generation failed"
Cause: The AI service returned an error, often due to a prompt that triggered a content policy filter.
Fix:
Review your prompt for potentially filtered content (violent imagery, explicit content, real person names, trademarked brand names).
Simplify the prompt and try again.
If the same prompt worked before, the service may be temporarily unavailable. Try again in a few minutes.
Generated images have visible artifacts or low quality
Fix:
Try a more specific prompt. Vague prompts often produce inconsistent results.
Add style guidance: "photographic, natural lighting, sharp focus, professional"
Avoid asking for text in images. AI-generated text is often distorted and violates platform ad policies.
Upscaling fails or produces blurry output
Cause: Upscaling a very small image (less than 300 px wide) may not produce a usable result even with 4× upscaling.
Fix: Start with the highest resolution original available. AI upscaling works best on images that are already sharp and at least 512 × 512 px.
Asset deleted by mistake
Asset deletion is permanent. There is no undo or recycle bin.
Prevention:
Use bulk delete carefully. Always review the selection before confirming.
Assets actively used in campaigns are protected from bulk deletion (you'll see a warning).
If you need to recover a deleted asset, re-upload the original file or regenerate it.
